Travelling around Delhi in the local auto and rickshaw were amazing means to experience the culture and sightseeing in Delhi. We were amazed by the architecture at Humayun tomb and Jama Mashid where my grandnephew became the most photographed star attraction for the Indians at the mosque! I loved the rickshaw ride through Chawdni chowk and the old Delhi area. We joined the locals to pay our respect to their founding father of India at the Mahatma Gandhi Sminiti and enjoyed the beautiful garden.
At Oberoi Amarvilla at Agra, I enjoyed the beautiful hotel setting facing the Taj Mahal and we were given a grand hotel tour by the manager. Great food awaited us at the restaurant at the ground level.
We were up early before sunrise for our visit to Taj Mahal, a 17th-century, Mughal-style, marble mausoleum with minarets with the famous symmetrical gardens; truly one of the wonders of the world . Many photographs of this place were shot as we admired the fabulous century old architecture of that time.
Moving from Agra to Jaipur by car, we arrived at Oberoi, Rajvillas in the evening. Swimming in the pool and entertained by the traditional puppet show nearby followed by the complimentary 30 mins spa were very relaxing .
Dinner at AD 1135 in the fort was arranged where we feasted on one of the best North Indian food in a grand setting made for emperors and VIPs…… feeling like one of them.
See the surroundings of Jaipur from a hot air balloon provided me with an exhilarating experience as we drifted over mountains, traditional villages and rural fields. I was totally mesmerized by the sight of the rising sun and loved the local villagers waving to us from rooftops and terraces……….. truly one of the unique travel experience for me. I loved the Palace Of The Winds’ architecture design that looked like a beehive castle with small windows and screened balconies within the pink city.
We stayed at the Oberoi, Vanyavillas in a tent styled room with this grandest setting – true glamping!
Loved the safaris led by our favourite Naturalist, R.K Pandey. We had close encounter with the deers, wild boars, monkeys, birds, crocodiles and Bengal Tigers with the abundance of luxuriant vegetation and picturesque landscape.
Special arrangements were made by our personal travel concierge for us to have tea and lunches on the jeep in the nature park itself! It was such a magical moment for me to see a tiger moving down from the slope and sitting in front of our jeep, a mother tiger with her male baby tiger crossing the road plus the young tiger bath in the stream. It is such an enthralled experience with wildlife and nature in Ranthambhore.
The unforgettable safaris experience coupled with luxurious accommodations, great food and services offered had given me the ‘WOW”….and most memorable travelling experience ever.
